CATHY LE FEUVRE - WRITER & AUTHOR/ BROADCASTER
OVERVIEW
I am a writer/author, broadcaster and communications professional with more than 35 years’ experience working in media and PR, across a range of media sector disciplines from print, radio and television to media PR within the third (charity and not for profit) and faith/Christian church sector.
In recent years I have concentrated much more on creative writing, and I also returned to broadcasting. Until March 2021 I worked for BBC Radio Jersey in the Channel Islands(UK) as a presenter and producer, including as Communities Journalist, Afternoon Show presenter and producer and producer and presenter of the Sunday Breakfast Show, with an emphasis on faith/church and ethical issues. For more information about that you might like to visit my Cathy on Radio page.
Since leaving the BBC I have returned to freelance work, so far concentrating on journalism and writing (including a new book - see below) and local PR consultancy including media and event delivery and strategy.
In August 2022 my latest books was published - 'The Gift of Kindness' is written with my friend and writing colleague Debbie Duncan and published by Authentic Media. It's an exploration of kindness from various perspectives - spiritual (Christian), scientific, ethical and more.
I was privileged to have my first book published in September 2013 – ‘William and Catherine’ – the love story of the founders of The Salvation Army, told through their letters (Lion Monarch Publishing). My second book 'Life Lines' co-written with my good friend Debbie Duncan, is a fictional story of two women, told through emails and texts. It was fantastic fun to write and was published by Authentic Media in October 2014.
In 2015 I had two books published. 'The Armstrong Girl - a child for sale, the battle against the Victorian sex trade' (Lion Hudson 2015) and 'A Girl with a Mind of Her Own' - the story of Commissioner Gisèle Gowans , a prominent leader in The Salvation Army international church and charity organisation (Shield Books 2015)

Much of my career has been at high level, working for local, regional and national media outlets including BBC and ITV in the UK. I have worked for key national faith and charity sector organisations including The Salvation Army church and charity organisation, one of the United Kingdom’s leading charities.
My work in media PR has involved high level corporate communications, feeding into organisational strategic planning and working with senior management to provide appropriate and effective public relations and communications planning, strategies and delivery. I thrive in fast-paced environments including working to strict and demanding deadlines. My news and current affairs and faith charity background ensures an excellent knowledge of media potential and contacts. I have excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communications skills, including copy writing (journalism for news and features and PR marketing copy) and creative writing. I have good knowledge of other marketing and fundraising areas including advertising, marketing, fundraising and social media and feel comfortable working with and across all disciplines.
However, a good deal of my PR media work has also involved working with small groups at grass roots level, helping local organisations on a tight budget spread their message effectively. I have a passion for helping people to communicate their message and am happy to work with large corporates or small organisations and individuals either on a one-off, ad hoc basis or with on-going contracts to suit all budgets.
Please go to My People / Clients page to see some of those with whom I am already working. If you think you cannot afford professional media PR advice, please think again, and drop me a line.
With my background in broadcast presentation I am a confident presenter and trainer, and have a passion for training in media awareness, skills and reputation management. At The Salvation Army, in particular, I was responsible for leading on training personnel and spokespeople. This included developing, managing and delivering media training and crisis / reputation management courses and facilitating outsourced media training when appropriate. Throughout my media career I also delivered one-to-one media technique training and master classes for media students.
I've done loads down the years in writing, broadcasting, PR and media communications, training and much more. It's a long list but if you fancy finding out more please click here - Cathy Le Feuvre Full Profile
