Well … what a year 2020 is proving to be!
It all started so innocently, didn't it? The start of a new decade - 2020! There was SO much optimism!
But within weeks the world became aware of a virus - the Corona Virus - and right now, as I write this blog, many countries are in what's being termed as 'Lockdown'.
Just last night, my home island of Jersey in the Channel Islands introduced strict regulations on movement and activities. Apart from key workers and key businesses, everyone is asked to stay at home, to leave only for essential shopping or medical / caring needs. Although we are allowed two hours out per day for exercise, so long as we stay at least two metres away from anyone else!
Words like 'self isolating', 'home isolation' and 'social distancing' are now part of our vocabulary. The world has changed beyond recognition and for many of us, OUR worlds have shrunk to the four walls of our homes.
As the COVID19 virus takes its grip on the world and as many of us individually find ourselves in self isolation and working from home I thought it might be good to reinvent a piece a wrote a few years back when I was working as a writer based in a spare room in a little flat.
So, if you're having to work from home right now, here are some of my thoughts about doing just that. Please feel free to click on the link below.
