April 23rd is St George's Day in England - St George being the patron saint of England.
It is, of course, also the birthday of the Bard of Avon, a certain William Shakespeare, who was born exactly 450 years ago and who also died this day, on his 52nd birthday, in 1616.
To remember the great man, I'm sharing with you a familiar sonnet - perhaps one of Shakespeare's best known - but which, despite its familiarity remains one of my favourite pieces of verse.
Oh to be able to write so exquisitely!
